#MondayMotivation

Mondays are tough, so here's a picture of an adorable rescue kitty at "work" (submitted by reader Jessica Bagley) to brighten your day. Brighten someone else's day and share your own rescue cat pic in the comments!

grandecaramellatte

Here's Grande Caramel Latte's rescue story in her own words:

"Hi Gwen and Homer! My name is Grande Caramel Latte (Latte for short!). I was hit by something — maybe a car — when I was very little and someone brought me into a shelter. I was badly injured, and I recovered, but the trauma to my brain caused me to lose my sight. A few weeks later, my parents adopted me, and my mom read your book. She cried while reading sometimes, but she also said that Homer was a lot like me! I might be blind, but I don't know it, and I have plenty of fun running around, getting into cupboards and acting like any other crazy, loving kitty. So thank you of sharing your story of Homer. It meant a lot to both of us!"

Laugh of the day

Quote from The Friend by Sigrid Nunez (which I very much enjoyed, BTW!):

"I was once told by a medical resident that he'd been taught on his psychiatric rotation that owning multiple cats could be a sign of mental illness. Thinking of the horrific instances of animal hoarding I'd heard about, I thought it was good that the psychiatric profession had its ear to this particular ground. But when I asked him how many cats were said to put a person over the line, he said three."

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! ;p
