The Girl Who Can Cook is FREE right now.
The Kindle edition of my first novel is free on Amazon until 12/10. Download now, read whenever. Totally free. Take this one and buy the next one which will be here in the summer of 2019. I'm not going to release any significant information until editing starts but it's a near-future dystopian thriller set in a world where breeding is controlled to save the world. I'm going to spend this month painting portraits and visiting family. I wish everyone a fantastic December and a happy new year. I don't know that I've ever been as excited for a year as 2019. Expect my second novel, first creator-owned comic book, appearances at all the biggest cons, a few fantastic painting projects and god knows what else. I make stuff for a living, expect a lot of stuff.

Commission warning and some show dates
Winter is here which brings Christmas and last minute gift buying. If I was Walmart that would be excellent news but since I have to actually paint the gifts you buy from me I'd like you to know that portrait orders (people or pets) ordered after 12/10 can not be guaranteed by Christmas. I am not so far behind that there is no hope, but if you are waiting--stop, at some point I will be closing my doors for the holiday season. In the new year I will be tackling a few Comic Conventions in preparation for C2E2 where I will be launching my very own creator owned project. I'll blab tons more about that in March. Confirmed show dates:1/4 - 1/6 - New Orleans Wizard World2/23 - 2/24 - Great Lakes Comic Con Detroit3/22 - 3/24 - Chicago's C2E2I'll add more dates later for 2019.Mike

A Vacation From Summer
It's been a long summer of art fairs and book promotion, drawing dogs and babies and all sorts of things that are work but not really. This weekend I will be selling art at the Greenwood, Indiana WAMMfest on Saturday and after that I jump on a plane to Reno.I'm going to get to walk around that monolith in the desert that's making all those electric cars and batteries, camp in Tahoe and hopefully avoid mountain lions and bears. It's not a vacation I need, but it's one I'll enjoy.

Why's the art at this farmer's market so expensive?
Thoughts on selling at art markets and how you can get great art for a reasonable price.Read on medium.

I woke up early to work...
And then found out Happy Gilmore was on Netflix. I'll bet there's a copy of that movie along with hundreds of other DVDs in a box somewhere in the basement. Not one of them has ever derailed my day but I guess I don't need cake unless there's cake on the table.I've been adding prints to ETSY the last two days and I will be adding dozens (maybe hundreds) more in the coming weeks along with some original art as I get it scanned. You can check them out here.

Site redesign is liiiiive.
Welcome to the new site, I spent more than ten minutes making this one and I am pretty happy with how it turned out.I added an online store so that people can purchase art commissions from me directly. I don't plan on putting any of my art up here at this time, but I am going to post some more stuff on Etsy and some larger fine art works on Saatchi, I will have links in the shop section. Please let me know if you spot any bugs so I can squash them. Thanks.

I'm not drinking...
The site is going to be acting drunk the next few days. I am adding an online store component so that people can purchase art commissions directly on the site and it's highly likely that I am going to break some things in the process.I used to make web stores for a living before all this creative crapola so don't worry, I will put it all back together nice and nobody will steal your credit card information.

Fuck it dude, let's go bowling.
I can't remember the last time I went bowling, I think Kate beat me and that may mean we'll never go bowling again. =P. Have a few upcoming art markets I'd like to share. This Saturday I will be shilling art and books at the Bloomington Farmer's Market. On the 21st I will be at the Brownsburg Fair of the Arts, and the weekend after that I am somewhere in Indianapolis but I didn't write it down because I'm a moron and I will have to post it later.Tomorrow night I am going to be doing a reading at Player's Pub. There's all sorts of other entertainment other than me. It will be weird and fun. I think I am supposed to read from my novel but I will probably end up doing something more fun. It's $5 at the door, they have beer so how can it be bad?
