Tommy Carbone was born in Brooklyn, New York where he spent his childhood years roaming the streets, playing pinball, eating slices, and playing slap. The NYC blackout of 1977 sparked his interest in electricity, which led him to study electrical engineering.

He now gets inspired and writes from a one-room, uninsulated cabin, in the Maine woods where moose outnumber people three to one. This is a verifiable fact, as Tommy has been chased by them more times than he was mugged in NYC.

If you have read "The Lobster Lake Bandits," in the second book, "The Elephant Mountain Gang," you get to learn more about Sarah and Joe as they get mixed up in a situation at the lake.

I am also finishing up my first world travel memoir. This book has some funny stories as well as interesting characters I have met while abroad.

I've also completely updated some classic Maine books. Those have been fun projects doing the research and adding new material.

If there is a topic I find interesting, I just write (or usually type, but I also spend a lot of time writing free-hand). That's why you'll find my novels having some historical fiction aspect to them. The stories are connections from otherwise, unconnected events.

I try to get as much down as possible when the moment arises - no editing, no proofing, just writing.(less)
