Kim Beall writes contemporary Gothic Fantasy set in liminal places which may or may not resemble any one of the small, southern towns she calls home. In such spaces between worlds, grown-ass adults can stumble into magic and wonder and, if they are determined enough, may even be able to save it.

She writes for adults who steadfastly refuse to outgrow their natural yearning for enchantment and who still believe, not so deep inside, that it is possible to find real magic in everyday life.

“Are we living a life that is safe from harm?

Of course not. We never are. But that’s not the right question. The question is are we living a life that is worth the harm?”
