Joe Milliken has been a music journalist, author, freelance writer, and editor for over 25 years. A visual artist in college and a lifelong music fan (though not a musician), his creative outlet became writing, first as a local reporter and freelancer, then working as a sports and arts editor and then a music website publisher, and now a twice-published author.

His first book, published in 2018 (Rowman & Littlefield) and titled "Let’s Go! Benjamin Orr and The Cars" is a biography about the Cleveland-born Orr, co-founder, co-lead singer and bassist of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band from Boston, The Cars. Over a decade in the making, the book has received mostly favorable reviews from music critics and Cars fans alike.
