Josef Firmage Miyasato is an award-winning author of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. He is the author of "The Portable Manimal Fiction" (2007), and "The Anti-Hero & The Disciple" (2018). His writing has earned him honors, including the President's Writing Award, a Pushcart Prize nomination, an Olive Wooley Burt Award honorable mention, among others.

Miyasato's writing is psychologically perceptive, spiritually attuned, philosophically complex, and darkly humorous. His writing explores the existential and religious questions in the literary tradition of Chaim Potok, Dostoevsky, Flannery O'Connor, and Denis Johnson.
