WESTERN JUSTICE – Pro Se Single Shot Signature Series
[image error]
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SUBMISSIONS CLOSED FOR PRO SE SINGLE SHOT SIGNATURE SERIES! SIX NEW SERIES TO DEBUT IN AUGUST-SEPTEMBER!
On July 2nd, Pro Se Productions announced openings for four series in the returning Pro Se Single Shot Signature line of digital episodic series with new chapters/issues released monthly. In next eight days, Pro Se received a tremendous amount of submissions. Due to the quality of submissions, Editor In Chief Tommy Hancock determined that six series deserved to be accepted and expanded the open slots from four to six.
“So many fantastic ideas,” says Hancock, “made the choice of just a few series difficult. When all the proposals were reviewed, six remained that we simply couldn’t not take. Yes, it’s a little more work for editors, formatters, and artists, but these six tales, in addition to the two remaining from the line’s first incarnation going into August, are most definitely the type of tales that will make the return of the Pro Se Signature Series an incredible hit.”
The accepted series to debut in August are a traditional Western story focusing on the exploits of a lawman and the people around him, WESTERN JUSTICE by Tyler Auffhammer; DIMMERY OF PATROL ACADEMY, an intrigue filled space opera science fiction adventure, by A. S. Crowder; and CITY BE DAMNED, a period urban fantasy noir by Todd Cobb.
In September, the three series to premiere include FRONTIER MAGICK, a colonial supernatural actioner by Teel James Glenn; MISTER STYX, a two fisted mystery man tale, by C. William Russette; and HOUR OF THE ROBOT, a super hero alien thriller by Paul R McNamee.
The six new series will join Chuck Miller’s THE FABULOUS WORLD OF ZENITH and Philip Athans’ TAI OF THE EBONY JUNGLE as the eight episodic tales that will be a part of the Pro Se Single Shot Signature Series, each monthly episode available for only 99 cents.

“Edge of the Abyss” – Crimson Streets
[image error]“Edge of the Abyss” by Carol Wellart
One of my stories, “Edge of the Abyss,” was published online today by Crimson Streets, an online magazine specializing in New Pulp stories, with genres ranging from adventure, supernatural detective, hard-boiled, etc.
You can read the full story at: http://www.crimsonstreets.com/2018/01/28/edge-of-the-abyss/
Crimson Streets also commissions artwork for each of the stories it publishes. My story receives the talents of Carol Wellart. She is a Czech artist who does some great paintwork and specializes in natural and fantasy subjects. You can find her at https://carolwellart.com/
Excerpt from “Edge of the Abyss”:
“Captain Harry Ackerman…even the sound of his name interested Thomas. It had been Ackerman’s name that captured him the first time he read Elliott’s Explorers of the Unknown as a boy. Thomas admired Ackerman’s determination, skills, and reputation. Only, it had slowly become obvious to many that he wasn’t the man he used to be. Now, on an arctic expedition led by the great man, Thomas could only hope that he and the others would survive and live to tell about it. For Ackerman was taking them all to the edge of the abyss.”

Updates
[image error]
Hello everyone! I hope your Christmas was good. Mine was great. There was hardly any snow, but we did see some here in North Carolina. it’s colder now, though, than it ever was in December.
A writing update for those interested:
Finished #2 in a series of 5 western stories about Marshal Horne
Shopping stories #1 and #2 of the Marshal Horne stories for publication
Shopping completed detective novel Bad Dames Die Dirty for publication
Outlining a new western novel about a gambler who gets caught up in a hunt for a buried treasure (guns, girls, and gold, what more could you ask for?)
One of my stories, “Edge of the Abyss,” will be released by Crimson Streets in late January
I’ve been doing a lot of business related stuff lately, especially on the updated website. I’m also doing a lot of shopping for my work. The new year helps get you motivated. I am very excited about the new western novel I’m planning because it’s got a great, action-packed storyline.

New Review for “Witness”
[image error]In 2015, I was included as part of a poetry collection put together by Ted Wojtasik and St. Andres University Press, Witness: Appalachia to Hatteras.
“This collection of poetry celebrates the Gilbert-Chappell Distinguished Poets Series in North Carolina, a program designed to promote poetry in this state. Witness [is] an annual book that collects the poetry of the distinguished poets and student poets each year. Sponsored by the North Carolina Poetry Society.”
Recently, Witness received its first review on Amazon: Sasi Inkollu said, “Best book that I have ever gotten a hold of. A must read for everyone! The images of love and nature are very prevalent” and rated it Five Stars. THANK YOU, Sasi!
If you’ve never checked out Witness, it’s available here for $9.99

The Backwoodsman Magazine
[image error]
For some time, I’ve been an avid reader of anything bushcraft, i.e. camping, outdoors, woodsman’s lore, etc. I’ve admired from afar people like Dave Canterbury (Bushcraft 101) and Coalcracker Bushcraft.
Recently, one of my articles, “Keeping a Bushcraft Journal,” was accepted by The Backwoodsman magazine, a great production created by Charlie Richie. The magazine includes a lot of articles by readers and well-known bushcrafters alike.
[image error]I am so proud to be involved with this publication, especially because one of my idols, Dave Canterbury, has an article on “How to Make a Shrink Pot” in this issue, too.
The Backwoodsman magazine is available at Walmart and through subscription at the website at http://www.backwoodsmanmag.com/.
I’ve included some images from the magazine and my article. Pick up the real thing to get the full scoop!
