So excited to receive the Best Book Finalist Award for “The Ignorance of Bliss: An American Kid in Saigon” from the American Book Fest in the History category. My memoir covers the early 60s when my siblings, parents, and I were transferred to Saigon by the Army. I’ve written this true coming-of-age story to read like a novel, told from a young person’s perspective, of a unique time in history.
