Eternal Shadows Fanart!!
Da dada da!!!
She’s done it again!! This time, Fanart for Eternal Shadows!!
I love how she used the lyrics from A Thousand Years, by Christina Perri. Despite being written for another fictional character, I think the song really captures Kass and Rhys’s story. ^_^
Enjoy!!

Eternal Shadows–one year later.
One year ago, my first novel was published. I can’t believe how quickly time has flown by!
Before Eternal Shadows, all my sales had been short stories–still fantasy, but of a more sword and sorcery bend. With Eternal Shadows, I entered into the wonderful world of Young Adult books. ^_^
Kassandra and Rhys were alive to me the moment they walked into my head and told me their names. I knew they would both be vampires, and I knew Kassandra would be new to that life. At the time, I was so tired of...

Fan Art!!
So, to sum up: I have the best Bestest Friend ever.
Seriously. I have fan art. ^_^
Now, this is a character from an, as of yet, unpublished novel of mine, but I love it, and I love my bestie (who shall herein be known as Usagi) and this first picture is soooooo awesome.
Sorry, I’m gushing a little. ^_^ no more delays, here it is:
Meet Alec:
Isn’t it pretty?? I am so in love.
A little, brief background: Alec sold his soul to save his younger brother and the woman he loved. Two thousand years later...

Pieces of Inspiration: The Gargoyle
So, in my attempt to blog more regularly, I thought I would share a few of the pieces I’ve bought over the years as inspiration (and some day, decoration for my writing room).
The first up, is my little friend here. The grinning gargoyle.

Isn’t he cute? I found him years ago–actually bought him as a gift for someone else, but then just couldn’t give him up. I know that may sound kinda bad…but I think he was just meant to be mine. ^_^
One of the things I love most about him is his smile. Most pe...

New Author Interview!
Hi all! I think I may be getting the hang of this. Bear with me, there may be a few really short posts like this for a while as I get my feet wet, so to speak.
I did an author interview over at Out of The Lockbox. Mary asks some great questions, and she’s a fabulous story-teller herself! So check it out, and take a further look around her blog!

There’s an App for that.
No, seriously. There’s an App for this! I can blog from my iPad! I am sooo much more likely to do this if it can be done while plinking away at Angry Birds and Dragonvale and Twitter. ^_^
So, this is me, trying it out.
And to make it worth your time…
Look! A puppy! ^_^

Relic
Monsters Blog #13
Welcome, welcome, to the last of the monsters blogs. The 13th, oddly enough, on Friday, the 13th of April.
Generally, this is my kind of monster. I love mythology, I love history, and I especially love when the lines between the two blur. Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child certainly do this in Relic. It focuses around a museum exhibit soon to be opened called Superstition–unfortunately, bodies are beginning to turn up.
The book starts off as expected, with people making their wa...

Snow
Monsters Blog #12
Snow…yeah, didn't have much of that this year. Good thing, I suppose.
First, let me say this. Characters who curse in nearly ever sentence that comes out of their mouth do not come off as likable. In fact, they come off as crude and uneducated and not anyone I want to spend any amount of time with. Yes, people curse, but not that much, and this is fiction, we have the freedom to make people better. Besides, not everyone curses like that. Use it as a character device. ...

Human Remains
Monsters Blog # 11
I enjoyed the tone and feel of this story much more than some of the others we've read by Clive Barker. In fact, this story reminded me a lot of The Shadow, by Hans Christian Anderson. I wonder if Barker had read it himself before writing this tale. In some ways, I think The Shadow is darker than Human Remains, since the doppelganger steals the man's life in a far more sinister way, where as here, the creature is almost given permission by Gavin.
The Shadow is one of my...
