Thea Ramsay (nee Darlene Adele Beckstead), was born completely blind, due to prematurity.
She attended the Ontario School for the Blind from 1970-1977, then moved with her mother (late) to British Columbia to be mainstreamed in a public school.
Despite being the only totally blind student in high school and college, Ramsay excelled in creative writing, English Literature, and Spanish. Though her experience hosting her own radio show on C.K.A.Y. in Duncan, BC, during her teens, failed to net her a job in broadcasting, she studied and worked in both acting and music.

A World Starved Of Beauty

After much hard work writing, and even harder work promoting “Lucy”, I finally have a check I can hold, get a copy of, and frame.


I’m now Thea Ramsay, professional author.


 


How did I celebrate? Simple. I read more stories, hoping to fuel this imagination. Or rather, I listened to those old stories featured on old-time radio, or OTR, for short.
