Well, I've paused in my work on my 1st novel based on the tabletop role playing game "GlymyreScape" to try to finish up "The GlymyreScape Game Master's Guide". In trying to sinc the novel events with the game, I found that the need for a game master's guide was even more than I had antisipated. So, I've been gathering (as well as creating more of) my notes used by game masters and getting ready to write the explanations and instructions for them. Most of the basics for playing the game are in the player's manual, but some elaborations are needed for those conducting a session. Not to worry, I'll still be posting the illustrations from the manual, but it may take longer for the 1st novel to come out. On the other hand, writing the novel will be more streamlined since I'll be clearer on the advanced guidelines I'm working through.

Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars


I've finished this book and can honestly say that I enjoyed every bit of "Treasure Island". I loved the way it started from the small hamlet inn near the coast, through an adventure on the high seas. True, the language seemed a little awkward to the modern reader, but it had a beauty reflecting the 1800s (originally published in 1883) and the influence that the Victorian era had on the times. Also, it was refreshing to read a book that wasn't loaded with profanity or controversial situations.
