The author Bengt Alshalabi was born in Syria in 1994. Due to the civil war, his family was forced to flee to Jordan in 2013. Two years later he decided to move to Europe, hoping to continue his studies there. Like many other refugees, he crossed the Mediterranean in a dinghy, continued his trip through Europe and finally ended up in Sweden. After a number of initial difficulties, he is now settled in Karlstad, living with a Swedish family. Bengt Hällgren, co-author of "The redheaded refugee", has helped Bengt Alshalabi write the story of his life. ...more
