Originally a commercial fisherman, including a stint king crabbing in Alaska and two years as a boat captain in the North Atlantic, Dan traded fish for cameras and left the industry in his 20’s. For the next twenty years, Dan was a commercial advertising photographer and photojournalist with a client list that included The New York Times, Unicef, The United Nations, and numerous fortune 500 companies. Dan’s photography is represented by Lonely Planet Images and Getty Images.

In the early 2000’s Dan became involved in the non-profit sector and served on the Board of Directors of A Crossroads House homeless shelter in Portsmouth, NH. During this time Dan also became interested in sustainability and energy issues. Dan initiated and chaired the ...more
