I'm quite bad when it comes to writer's block, I get annoyed, maybe drink a cup of coffee and then give it a rest for the moment. I often find if you're having a block, there's a reason, so as long as you're not on a tight deadline, taking a momentary rest to recover your creative energy is not going to hurt. Forced creativity doesn't tend to yield the best results.

At the same time, you have to make sure after a block you get straight back on it and don't become weighed down by bouts of procrastination.(less)
