Elizabeth is a deaf writer, activist, and feminist living in London with her husband Daniel and their cat Coco, short for Chocolat. She has been blogging for thirteen years, and an arts and culture journalist since 2011.

She writes non-fiction essay collections, poetry, and fiction. Her love of fiction and non-fiction has inspired her to write the stories that are missing. She enjoys writing about the mysterious, the weird and the unexplained.

A self-described bookish geek, foodie, and film fan, she loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa with a cup of tea, book or film and a cat or two for company.

“Imperfection is beautiful and a necessary aspect of human nature. Perfection is impossible. What should we strive towards instead? A greater understanding of and the growth of ourselves and the people around us is rooted in accepting imperfection, even celebrating it.”
Elizabeth A. Ward, Fragments: Essays and Philosophies

“We define ourselves in different ways, according to culture, family, peer group, and world-view. By what we enjoy doing, and what we don’t enjoy doing. By what we’ve experienced, and what we would like to experience. It all comes together to form the basis of ‘us’. Losing your compass, your passion, meaning, or purpose—could lead towards pain or towards discovery.”
Elizabeth A. Ward, Fragments: Essays and Philosophies

“We need thinkers in this world of ours, just as we need dreamers, pragmatists, doers, and people who are kind and loving. So many things around us are the result of people who invented, thought hard about what would make life better, thought about what democracy looks like, thought about how we want to live.”
Elizabeth A. Ward, Fragments: Essays and Philosophies
