A few months ago, I nervously sent off my submission to the 2019 NJ Golden Leaf contest: printed and signed copies of my first published novel, North to Nara. Finding a category for North to fit in was a challenge--but the kind organizers of the contest helped me find a place: the Best First Book category. After months of trying--but not quite succeeding--to avoid obsessing about how North might fair, I'm thrilled to share that the novel is a finalist in its category! Winners won't be announced until October, but regardless what happens, this is a huge honor that I didn't expect, and I'm so grateful to the NJ Romance Writers; my publisher (Inkspell); and all the friends, family, and readers who have supported me on this journey! xo
