What Element Are You?

There are eight holy Elements: Lightning, Air, Spirit, Water, Wood, Soil, Body, and Fire. Unless you were born as an Elementalist, you’re probably wondering which Elemental affinity you have. You don’t get to pick your Element and you can only have an affinity for one. It’s decided before your birth, but the characteristics of the Element will factor into your life so that you may use clues to help you identify which Element is yours to use.

Lightning: You probably talk fast and definitely think fast. You could learn to exercise a little hesitation as your compulsive tendencies tend to get you into trouble.

Air: Outwardly the happiest of all Elemental types, but you know how much work it takes to maintain that stigma. Heights are your friend and sometimes it occurs to you that you cannot fly.

Spirit: Your intuition is finely-honed. Some people think you’re psychic, but you’re not sure. Others seem to respond well to your suggestions. You may have physical disabilities or take time to heal.

Water: Despite a flexible and supportive nature, you have the capacity to cause catastrophic damage if angered. You may be inclined to cling to others because they’re so squishy.

Wood: You’re not stubborn. Keep reminding people of that. You’re a solid, dependable, and highly reasonable person, but not stubborn. Mud sports are your raison d’etre. Everything else is a transition to the next muddy experience.

Soil: You’re heavier than you look. And that’s okay. You may be slow moving and deliberate, but the people that really love you know you’re careful and taking everyone’s best interests into consideration. You realize they just want to start the party on time.

Body: Strength and appearances matter to you. More than they should. You can seem insensitive at times, but you think people worry too much and make their own pain worse through fussing. You may work harder than smarter, but the job got done. Right?

Fire: A real people pleaser. More than one person has commented on the heat they feel radiating off of you. You like the cold, just not being cold. Even though you really should work on your temper, your first priority needs to be forgetting how many times you’ve been burned.

Writing Machines

"Machines," the follow up to "Elements," progresses nicely. The book has some inherent challenges, but now that I have a rich new landscape and new characters to play with, each chapter becomes a gem of excitement. The themes in "Machines" differ significantly and in ways very important to the development of Mink. The creative push to settle all the pieces in place to complete the picture stands out as my favorite part of the process. If I weren't also chiefly responsible for the marketing of the books, editing would easily be my least favorite part of the process. Any of you looking forward to the sequel? I strive to make it available early 2017. Stay alert for updates.

Audiobook Progress

I am currently receiving and considering auditions for the audiobook version of "Elements." Production has not started yet, but it's highly likely that the microphone will be capturing the words before the end of April. Updates will happen as steps are made, but the hope is to have an audiobook format to offer this summer (2016).

What are you readers hoping to get out of the audiobook? Is there any part of the book that you are more excited about hearing read to you?

I know for me, it's the encounter with the Reeks.Elements

Elemental Reboot

Life has no reset button. Trust me, Mink would have used one if he could have. But, when it comes to books, sometimes you find a button and get a mulligan.

My button came in the shape of a partnership with Blue Harvest Creative. Their savvy and experience in the publishing world gave new life to my story and laid a proper foundation. Hence, the new look and better (easier to find) title. This isn't a second edition of the first release. It's the reboot.

The book is far better off for it. Easier to read, more eye-appealing, and available in multiple formats (auditions are currently underway for the audiobook).

No regrets concerned the 2015 release of the audiobook without a design. That ebook gave me the connections and exposure necessary to bring the final metamorphosis to light.ElementsRaymond Henri
