Matthew E. Damson is a westernized pen-name. He's from Estonia, and his name is Madis. He's working as a programmer and writes as a hobby.

He has read surprisingly little, but he's trying to find more time for reading.

The idea of 'writing' began from the fact that he always had creative stories in his mind. His original dream was creating the game, but since the lack of gaming companies, and lack of interest to move abroad, he decided to try other hob

So, I'm going to answer this question in a way that you're like me - English is my secondary language.

Of course, the two major "Rules" so to speak, stands. Write and read.

But I'm a slow reader, and thus I can't read that many books like many others. It's also because whenever I read something, I try to learn it at the same time. It's full of words that I still don't fully understand.

So, first thing first, learn English and writing rules. Many say that grammar isn't number one - and that might be true. The idea, the story, is a lot more critical. But that might push the grammar and writing into 2nd importance, which is still important.

You don't need to perfect English. I'm far from it. My everyday writing is a lot worse than my possible books. But try to get good at it. Perhaps you'll find editor one day who can do the final touches, fix those stupid missing a's and the's. But until then, you need to get decent yourself. And it's a hard road.

I did something that I never expected that I would do. I read a grammar book.

And I will do it probably again.(less)
