Born in Philadelphia on May Day makes me a Taurus the bull. At various times in my life I have worked as a newspaper photographer, veterinary assistant, ski instructor, EMT, data coordinator, assistant general manager of an ambulance company, hospital orderly, nursing assistant, phlebotomist, physical trainer, pizza deliverer, landscaper, dog trainer, life coach and surgeon as well as serving in the US Navy medical corp. Currently I live in metropolitan Atlanta on a secluded azalea-laden property with my German shepherds where I can relax and let down my public persona.

“Okay, boys. Dogs.” Maximus paused for dramatic effect. “Such magnificent animals. Andy and Billy know this.” They nodded. Maximus looked at Tommy. “And you, boy?” “Oh yes, sir.” Maximus continued with an upbeat tone. “They are selfless and have a keen sense of loyalty. They give unconditionally of themselves and are guileless. They are easily trained, as they always want to please the master. One of the most important things they teach us is the joy of living in the moment. To live life without being bogged down by unnecessary distractions of potential future consequences or troubled by past experiences. They know what makes them happy and they pursue it without fear of being judged, as they are nonjudgmental themselves. And on top of all that they can make us laugh.” Maximus grinned mischievously. “Time for some amusement. Alpha-Sleep. Beta-Sleep.” Andy and Billy remained”

“You can see their horns? You can see them right now?”
Tommy nodded and wondered if it was bad etiquette to talk about it. “Yes, sir. When I look out of my peripheral vision I see horns coming out from their heads. Not very clearly. Sort of like transparent horn images. I can see both kinds. The shorter kind that curve back and the longer kind that come out from the sides.”
Maximus stared with a perplexed intensity at Tommy. “You can see the horns.” It was more of a statement. Maximus quickly followed with a question. “You see short horns on Andy and Billy and long horns on me, correct?”
Maximus’s question reassured Tommy that he wasn’t the only one who could see these apparitions. Tommy smiled, thankful he wasn’t going crazy. “Yes, sir. The short ones mean someone is a slave and the long ones mean he is a master, right?”
Maximus nodded slowly. “That is correct.”
“You told me when we first met that I would have gaydar for dominant and submissive men. It works really well.”
“I did say that,” Maximus conceded as he sat back in his chair.”
