Just a bit about me. I live in Arizona, but for most of the year, I travel across our beautiful earth as a deckhand and yoga instructor in the yachting industry. I love the serenity of the sea, exploring treasured caves, hiking through lush green forests, immersing myself in different cultures, and meeting new friends.

My co-author, Rob Scheer and I have completed two beautifully illustrated, heartfelt children's books. Rob is the Founder and CEO of Comfort Cases. Since 2013, Comfort Cases set out on a mission to eliminate the use of trash bags and provide children entering the foster system with brand new essential and comfort items. To date, Comfort Cases has positively impacted over 110,000 children, and has recently opened a chapter in t Just a bit about me. For each book purchased of Lulu and Malek Sail Off to Sea, we will donate one book to Comfort Cases.

My passions are storytelling, child advocacy and conservation. Through diverse ventures, I am able support a variety of children and conservation organizations. My upcoming short-story collection reflects my love and concern for those in need, especially children, across the world. Through suspense and adventure storytelling, it is my greatest hope to give a voice to those who are oppressed, those who suffer, and those who are silenced. I would love to share a quote with you that serves as my storytelling beacon:

I wrote the stories relatively quickly wi…moreI'm not sure where the time has gone, but I've been writing a short-story collection for close to two years. I wrote the stories relatively quickly within the first eight months or so, but I continue to go back, edit, re-research, re-edit, and repeat. The journey has been a labor of love creating the characters and story lines that tap into sensitive issues. Many of the stories were very difficult to write, and in most cases, the intensive research into the subject matter was even more difficult to read--devastating really. But something inside me wanted the stories to be told. Will I ever finish? Happy to say, I'm getting close and hopeful for a 2023 publication! I believe the next novel I write will be very different - fantasy? science fiction? comedy? I'm looking forward to discovering where my heart may take me (and) I would love to hear your recommendations!(less)

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

You may have seen me on Below Deck, Season 4 and recognize the saying…moreI've worked in the yachtie industry as a deckhand and stewardess for many years. You may have seen me on Below Deck, Season 4 and recognize the saying: "June, June, Hannah" - which I still laugh about today! I love the tranquility and beauty of the ocean and wanted to write Lulu and Malek Sail Off to Sea to celebrate the beauty above and below the water. While at sea, there were many eco / pollution issues and we wanted to gently introduce young readers to how we can help to keep our oceans and lands clean - so there are a few pages that add this element. Sea adventures are amazing, so it was important that the story was fun, colorful, and full of laughs as well. Our illustrator Gill Guile is truly gifted. Her vibrant colors, combined with the character's expressions are priceless. My co-author Rob Sheer is the founder and CEO of Comfort Cases providing backpacks full of love and necessities to thousands of foster children. He loves the sea as well and together we were inspired to write this story for children. For each book purchased, Rob and I donate one book to Comfort Cases.(less)
