I live in the North-East of Scotland in a sheltered housing complex. Since my accident, my life is totally different to what it was before, in that I have lost my independence and have to rely on other people to help me with everything. I enjoy a full and active life. One of my favourite hobbies is playing chess. I’m not very good at it, but I enjoy the mind warfare. I also enjoy listening to music, and I appreciate a wide spectrum of musical genres and styles, from classical to heavy metal. I have been an Open University student for twenty-six years and have three degrees in science.
