An Old Man’s Christmas Gift

I decided to take a little break from working on my next novel and wrote a poem I call “An Old Man’s Christmas Gift.” It touches on the struggles many have with passing their religion on to their adult children. I recorded my narration of it as well. You can listen to the recording or read the poem at my website at this link. https://kennethjhansen.com/an-old-mans-christmas-gift/

Of course, access to the poem is free. I hope you enjoy it.

Audiobook of The Light of Our Yesterdays Just Released!

I am excited to announce that Odium Odi Press has just released the audiobook for my award-winning novel, The Light of Our Yesterdays.  It is available at Audible or Amazon and should be available on Apple iTunes in a few days.

Narrating the novel allowed me to create voices, accents and emphasis that I hope will provide the listener with even deeper insights into this intriguing story where desperate souls search for Truth across parallel worlds through the puzzling fog of hatred, terrorism and deceit.

Enjoy!

The Light of Our Yesterdays Receives Honorable Mention in 2020 U.S. & Canada Book Awards Competition

Great news!  My novel just received an honorable mention from the United States and Canada Catholic Press Association 2020 Book Awards!

In fact, of the 3 books finishing ahead of mine in the self-published category, only one was a novel. That means the association selected my book as the second best self-published novel among entries submitted during the past year throughout the U.S. and Canada!

Go to the end of the linked list to see the Self-Published category:

The Light of Our Yesterdays Wins Wisconsin Author Project Award

The Wisconsin Public Library Consortium just announced that The Light of Our Yesterdays has won its Wisconsin Author Project Award for 2019.  The contest recognizes the top self-published fiction in the state.

The award will be presented to me at the Wisconsin Library Association’s annual meeting on October 10th.  I’m very excited that my book was selected by a committee of Wisconsin librarians from a host of entries in adult and young adult fiction.

The combination of action, historical places and spaces, and jumps through time appealed to our judges and kept us glued to the story,” stated Amy Lutzke, chair of the judging committee.

Book Reading and Signing at Oregon Public Library on June 22nd

Many of you have told me that you are hoping to get your copy of The Light of Our Yesterdays signed.  If you live in the Madison area, here is your chance.

The Oregon Public Library is hosting a book reading and signing event for me on Saturday, June 22nd at 1:30 pm.

I promise I won’t try to read the whole book—just one chapter.  There will also be an opportunity for a Q&A relating to the novel.  After that, I’ll be available to sign your copy.  If you have not yet obtained a copy, there will be some additional copies available for purchase at the discounted prices of $15 for the paperback and $25 for the hard cover.

Check out the library’s web page for more information:
