Esther Wallace is an award winning author and freelance illustrator. She started her journey as a homeschooler, telling stories to her younger siblings. Her favorite books and movies are the ones that challenge the reader as well as the protagonists, the tales so driven by character, those heroes and heroines stay with one through all the hardships and joys of life. These, such as Frodo Baggins, Princess Eilonwy of Llyr, Taran Wanderer, and Harry Potter, come off the page, as they should.
Her largest jolts of inspiration come when reading/watching/reenacting history or joking with her large family around the diner table.

"This is a truly cute and quirky story with powerful themes of second chances and forgiveness! I enjoyed the nod to Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing—but with a fantasy twist of castles and knights—though I can hardly say that the hurt and heartach" Read more of this review »

“My family is comprised of archers."
"Quite skilled ones, I'd guess."
"Well, my sister and I pride ourselves as such, if that is any answer from people who think too highly of themselves.”
Esther Wallace, The Savage War

“Honor is my freedom and I will die with it if I must and live with it despite all costs.”
Esther Wallace, The Savage War

“Yes, even in your pride, you show leadership--nothing can make you surrender unless you are completely convinced it would be wrong not to.”
Esther Wallace, The Savage War

“Child, child, do you not see? For each of us comes a time when we must be more than what we are.”
Lloyd Alexander, The Black Cauldron

“Long ago I yearned to be a hero without knowing, in truth, what a hero was. Now, perhaps, I understand it a little better. A grower of turnips or a shaper of clay, a Commot farmer or a king--every man is a hero if he strives more for others than for himself alone.
Once you told me that the seeking counts more than the finding. So, too, must the striving count more than the gain.”
Lloyd Alexander, The High King

“All that writers can do is keep trying to say what is deepest in their hearts. ”
Lloyd Alexander

“Thinking is a bit uncomfortable, but you'll get used to it. A matter of time and practice.”
Lloyd Alexander, The Iron Ring

“I only suggest to you: Will you dwell on killing this man? You wish for revenge? If you do, he has already killed you by slow poison. So, let it go. Why waste your time? His life will see to his death.”
Lloyd Alexander, The Golden Dream of Carlo Chuchio
