Please allow me to introduce myself here in this space.
I am the author of Mother of Honey, a memoir where I share the story of my indigenous Brazilian mother, a woman with an unbreakable spirit who defies the conventions of her time and fights against the injustices of imperialism, poverty, and the patriarchy. Writing my mother’s story was a deeply healing experience for me. To my surprise, the story has touched many hearts so far, getting glowing 5-star reviews. A book club has been formed by some of the readers where they discuss my mother’s journey and focus on their own ancestral traumas.
