Before moving to Valla in New South Wales, Anthony English taught management and negotiation at Flinders University, Adelaide. He has lived in Papua New Guinea, Kiribati, the Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Australia and New Zealand. He was a Patrol Officer in PNG before Independence, then District Officer, magistrate, and acting Deputy Secretary to the Chief Minister in the UK’s Gilbert Islands Colony (now Kiribati). He was also Disposals Coordinator for Unexploded World War Two Ordnance. He has been a development aid manager, executive head-hunter, and negotiation adviser.
