I saw …moreIn my work, I saw a dramatic increase in the number of books that were designed to help individuals reinvent retirement and later-life careers. I saw many people becoming engaged and enthusiastic to learn and apply new skills later in life. But ageism inside of organizations is real and companies are not designed to welcome career changers who are in their 50s, 60s and 70s. I noticed that there were not books or resources that addressed the aging workforce from the employer's perspective - all of the resources focused on individuals were creating a whole group of people who were "all dressed up with nowhere to go." I needed to help balance this equation.
