Forest Bowman is a retired law professor who has written two novels, All Our Yesterdays, the story of a much-wronged orphan boy’s revenge on his tormentors, and The Secret of the 48th Foot, a novel about the search for the chest of gold and silver coins that disappeared following General Edward Braddock’s defeat by the French & their Indian allies in 1755. Having spent his youth fascinated by what ordinary people do when faced with great peril, his characters are not fearless and possess no special powers, but they face their dangers head-on with cunning, grit and an occasional dash of humor.

“After 55 years at the bar and a career as a law professor it may seem strange that I wouild write a novel. But the opportunity to spin a tale about hidden treasure, secret codes, midlife love, a life-saving dog and a thrilling chase through West Virginia was just too tempting. The Secet of the 48th Foot was too much fun not to give it a whirl.”
