David MacNamera is a writer who has lived in the Great Pacific Northwest for the last twenty-five years. David wasted no time leaving an abusive alcoholic home at eighteen years of age and worked his way across the US. Then attended university, earning a degree in Business Information Systems and a minor in Mandarin Chinese. He also traveled the world, perfecting his spoken French and Chinese, and met hundreds of people in countless places.

David has worked in a wide range of industries, including systems design, manufacturing, computer programming, and Internet-based software systems for some of the biggest companies in the world. He has also worked as an accredited English As A Second Language teacher in Asia for eight years, as an entrepr

I learned about Ocean City, Maryland, a summer beach resort town in the southeast US. There I worked with other young people as waiters, line cooks, etc, having fun during the busy summer season. I met young people my age from Europe who came down from relatively nearby New York City. I got invitations from them to visit several countries, so on a wing and a prayer at the end of the summer, I flew off to Europe with my meager savings to hitchhike around, learn French, visit lots of places and generally live life. Definitely on a shoestring budget, though!
In Europe, I met people who had traveled to Asia, primarily Thailand and Taiwan, so I took a cheap flight from Greece and spent almost 8 years living and working in Asia altogether.
Since I received my degree in software design, I've settled in the Pacific Northwest, where I love the rainy winters for reading and the perfect summers for growing things outdoors. Writing's a great fit for both seasons, so it became one of my favorite hobbies. Glad you're enjoying the new edition of 7 Spirits, 4 Friends: Search for the Centuries Prize!

Warm regards,

David
