Marshmallow is LIVE!

MarshmallowThat cover image. Sigh. Heeelllooo Captain Back Muscles…

Marshmallow, the seventh book in the Saving Ceraste series, is LIVE! I am so happy with how this story turned out. It may actually be my favorite so far. I mean, who doesn’t love a gruff, tough hero with a soft gooey marshmallow center?? It is available on Amazon Kindle Unlimited.

These two characters were so clear in my head. They’ve been taking up space in my thoughts for almost a year. I actually really care about these figments of my imagination so I really really really hope I gave them the story they deserve.

This story is, in some ways, darker than my other books. I explore a hard topic here – domestic violence – and its long term affects. I pray that I handled this topic right. Everyone is deserving of love and excellent sex. So I hope I gave my characters the love they deserve!

Below is the book description:

Follow Sara and General D’Annon as what should have been a simple trip to get Sara home turns into the adventure of a lifetime.

Sara: I am heartbroken to quit the Bride Program. Momma needs me to return home and take care of her after a recent heart attack. Even though I had no intention of ever becoming a bride to one of the Cerastean aliens, I don’t want to leave. The mothership is the first place I have felt safe in a very long time. I will miss the feeling of security and all my friends. I may even miss one gruff, annoying, overprotective alien general.

General D’Annon: I’ve watched and worried over Sara for months. Like all Cerasteans, I can smell emotions. Sadness and fear were Sara’s constant companions in the early days of her arrival on the mothership. Now that she has to return to Earth, the scent of Sara’s sadness and fear are back. I vow to escort Sara home and make sure she is safe.

Content Warning: This book contains themes of domestic violence.

Heelllooo Captain Back Muscles!

The cover for book 7 is finally done! And I love love love it. The title for the seventh book in the Saving Ceraste series is Marshmallow. The book should be available on Amazon in the next few days. I am so happy with how this story turned out. It may actually be my favorite so far. I mean, who doesn’t love a gruff, tough hero with a soft gooey marshmallow center??

Below is the book description. I am hoping to whet your appetite:

First Draft is done for Book 7!

Write without fearNow to start editing!

Whew! I just finished the first draft of Sara and the General’s book (title TBA). Now I gotta go edit the hell out of it. I love these two characters so I am desperate to give them the love story they both deserve. No pressure!

The last two books I wrote–Insatiable Curiosity and The Alien’s Gossip Queen–ended up being much longer than I originally planned. Those characters just had a lot to say. This book is landing right about where I wanted it at just over 50K words.

I am hoping the edits will go quickly and it should be ready to publish within two weeks. But that always goes longer than planned too! Urgh.

Mistakes were made

TwizzlersWhy must you be so yummy?

I just accidentally ate a whole bag of Twizzlers. Now I am full of regret. Also full of Twizzlers, but mostly regret.

I was working on chapter 3 of Sara and D’Annon’s book and didn’t notice that I was devouring the whole bag. Now I don’t feel very good. Damn you Twizzlers for being so delicious!

In other news sales for The Alien’s Gossip Queen are going well. It only has a couple of reviews so far but they are all positive. I am hoping my readers will enjoy Janet & D’Xurrl’s story as much as I enjoyed writing it. Who doesn’t love gossip?

The Alien’s Gossip Queen

The Alien’s Gossip Queen

The Alien’s Gossip Queen is finally live on Amazon! This is the sixth book in the Saving Ceraste Series. Although I am counting this book only as 5.5. In my original outline, I had planned to have this book be almost half the size that it ended up. It was supposed to just be a little palate cleanser after the wild ride of Insatiable Curiosity. However, like all Gossip Queens, Janet had more to say.

Despite being slightly larger than a typical novella, I left the price at $.99 for the ebook since The Alien’s Gossip Queen is a very small step away from the main storyline of Saving Ceraste. Please get the book and let me know what you think!

Below is the story description from the book cover:

Find out what happens when a curvy gossip queen meets her alien match.

Janet: When I accepted the job at a Cerastean healing center, I only intended to focus on the work at hand: saving patients from cancer. And maybe some gossip. There is nothing I love more than juicy gossip. It turns out that a medical facility filled with humans and aliens creates a treasure trove of romance, scandal and fabulous rumors. This facility is feeding my Gossip Queen soul. But there might actually be something, or someone, I could love more. He’s sweet, protective, loves dogs, has a body to die for… And he’s an alien.

Could I actually love an alien more than spilling tea?

D’Xurrl: As head of security for Deerfield Medical facility, the humans I am tasked with protecting certainly keep me on my toes. I’ve learned the word ‘shenanigan’ since coming to Earth, and I have found that humans encapsulate the term perfectly. One vivacious human, in particular, has captured my attention with her sweet scent, her love of gossip and her curvy body. I want Janet for my own, but it is a dangerous time for my people. Until the threat has passed, I need to stay away from this luscious human female. Now I just need to make sure my heart and body follow my orders.

When events beyond their control test D’Xurrl and Janet’s budding romance, can their relationship withstand the turbulence?

This is a quick side story about our favorite gossip queen and her alien D’Xurrl. The next book will return to the main Saving Ceraste storyline.

Sent to the editor

Nervous authorNervous author

The face I make as I wait for feedback from the editor. However, I am so happy to have my newest book temporarily off my plate. I can finally do more holiday stuff. Or… nothing, I could do nothing for just a hot minute.

My initial plan had been to make book six a tiny fun book. Just a step slightly away from the main story arc. However, it ended up being twice as long as I initially planned. The story just ended up needing more room to fill out. Like me after all these holiday treats!

The best feeling

Isn’t it the best feeling in the world when you press your hot coffee mug against your face when you have a sinus infection? Oh man, nirvana stuff right there.

In other news, I am hoping to have the first draft of book six finished by the end of the week. We will see. This one is short but has taken FOREVER. Life keeps getting in the way. The flu kicked everyone’s ass in my house except for my poor beleaguered husband. Fever, vomiting, whining, and then there was the kids. I’m kidding – somewhat. He seriously deserves to be sainted though.

Insatiable Curiosity is now available!

The fifth book in the Saving Ceraste series is available to purchase on Amazon! Hell yeah! I really really hope everyone likes it. I enjoyed writing a story about my favorite nerd Ally. As a nerd myself I like to see the geeky girl land her guy.

Insatiable Curiosity Insatiable Curiosity

Below is an excerpt from Insatiable Curiosity:

It’s fantastic to have a partner in crime.

The Dulci Liberation Front girls are my best friends in the universe, but they don’t quite understand me. Let me rephrase—they do understand the person I am inside. They just don’t comprehend what I am saying most of the time. I can’t share my passion for technology with them like I can L’Zaen. My friends appreciate what drives me, but their interests lie elsewhere. I often feel like I’m on my own; in my own little solo nerd-bubble.

I watch L’Zaen through my eye lashes as he eats his noodle dish. He seems lost in thought, and his gaze is unfocused.

“If they use ion propulsion, do you think they also utilize ion cannons? It would make sense to incorporate ionized particle weapons since the technology is already in use on the ship. What do you think?” L’Zaen suddenly asks me.

If I find out L’Zaen reads manga or likes to cosplay, I will fall hopelessly in love with him, I think to myself. I would happily make room in my nerd-bubble for another person.

Sneak Peak: Insatiable Curiosity

Insatiable CuriosityInsatiable Curiosity

Insatiable Curiosity will be released soon! I can’t wait for everyone to join me on Ally and L’Zaen’s adventure. Here is a sneak peak at the cover art and the book blurb:

Ally has wanted to be an astronaut for as long as she can remember, but an eye condition made that dream an impossibility. She views the Cerastean’s Bride Program initiative to find human wives as her chance to finally get into space. Finding an alien husband isn’t a priority. All Ally wants to do is explore space and take apart alien technology to learn how it works.

After being caught sneaking into engineering one too many times, Ally is assigned to work with Cerastean Scientist L’Zaen to re-engineer an Ostium weapon. Ally loves the work, and L’Zaen’s keen intellect.  L’Zaen loves how Ally’s insatiable curiosity makes every day an adventure. When their work garners an invitation to a festival on the Hisk homeworld, Ally finds her greatest dream coming true.

Join our couple as they geek-out on new tech, join a pilgrimage to an alien festival, work to defeat the Ostium threat and find love.
