Nate Van Dyke Actually, I have had the idea for quite a long time and it has completely changed over the course of the last few years. When I originally started wri…moreActually, I have had the idea for quite a long time and it has completely changed over the course of the last few years. When I originally started writing the book in 8th grade as a short story, the original concept was simply two boys who had the ability to wish for anything. As I expanded that short story though, I found that this simple idea would be nearly impossible to turn into anything beyond just that simple short story, so I had to change some things. For one thing, I had to make a wishing ability significantly less powerful and I had to find a way to build a world around whatever that power ended up being. And that, along with years of editing, is how I ended up with the "finished" book that I have today!(less)
