After writing two books on leadership, Mitch decided to pivot into fiction. He released his first novel, Persian Tomcats, in March 2022. It is a military thriller that pits the U.S. F-16 Fighting Falcons against Iran's F-14 Persian Tomcats.

He followed up this debut novel with a sequel, The Last Persian Tomcat, set to be released on Veteran's Day, November 11, 2022. This novel picks up where Persian Tomcats left off.

Mitch, an Air Force “Brat,” was born in Berlin, Germany in 1963. Growing up, he moved around quite often with his family, eventually settling in Spokane, Washington.
