Maturing is realizing every single character in this book sucks except Uncle Bob. (This is a joke, I always knew every single character in this book sucks except Uncle Bob.) |

| I worried this book would have a technical, scientific voice and would be difficult to understand. It did not have a technical, scientific voice. It was unhinged and was 75% about the bizarre sex lives of animals I’d never heard of. 6 out of 5 stars. | |

After adoring Solitaire, I did not love this one (no pun intended). I slogged through it and resented how it gave two options: be allo or live forever alone. Love a university settng though. |

“You are so consumed with dying, you are forgetting to live. And what purpose on earth has that served you?”

“And in that instant, the walls stopped caving in on him. The crushing
pressure leaped off his chest. The broken pieces of his soul fell away and drowned in a mighty, crashing peace. He let it roll over him again and again, filling him like a well, like the sunrise, like the rain, like a new bird realizing its wings, and knew intuitively that all the love and solace he had experienced until now was nothing more than a wisp of a half-forgotten dream in some realm not nearly as real as this one.”

“Go out and treasure that gift. Stop trying to see into tomorrow.”
" It’s not that easy,” Gabriel admitted.
“No, it is not easy. It is easy to fear. It is easy to hate. It is easy to provoke violence. Each one leads to the other, does it not? To pick each other up, to walk into a new day without knowing what it brings—that is true courage.”

“It's your fault, Eeyore. You've never been to see any of us. You just stay here in this one corner of the Forest waiting for the others to come to you. Why don't you go to THEM sometimes?”

“I DON'T CARE!" Harry yelled at them, snatching up a lunascope and throwing it into the fireplace. "I'VE HAD ENOUGH, I'VE SEEN ENOUGH, I WANT OUT, I WANT IT TO END, I DON'T CARE ANYMORE!"
"You do care," said Dumbledore. He had not flinched or made a single move to stop Harry demolishing his office. His expression was calm, almost detached. "You care so much you feel as though you will bleed to death with the pain of it.”

“You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children.”

“I have come home at last! This is my real country! I belong here. This is the land I have been looking for all my life, though I never knew it till now...Come further up, come further in!”
