New kid in town
Hi all!
Although that makes me sound like I’m shouting, when really, I’d quietly say hi while awkwardly waving…
Okay, deep breath.
So, my first book (Full of Promise) comes out this week with Bella Books. On the 13th to be exact (available through Amazon on the 18th). Such an exciting yet terrifying time. Writing a book was never something I thought I would ever do. Yet here I am.
I started writing this as a short story for a queer studies class I took several years ago. Let me tell ya, I got hooked. I needed to expand and tell this story completely. You see, I’m bisexual and I don’t see myself represented all that often. And if my orientation is part of a story somewhere, it’s not always represented well. Maybe if I would have had coming out story like this when I was in high school, I would have come out a little sooner than the age of 29. And again, maybe I wouldn’t have. But I wanted and needed to tell this story for every kid, teen, adult that is questioning their sexuality and knowing that they’re not straight or gay or lesbian. If I can help just one person with this book, then all those late nights writing until I couldn’t keep my eyes open will be worth it.
Now excuse me while I go hide myself away as release day gets closer. Gotta get those words down for book #2…
