Have you ever lost a child? I have!about 8 years ago, I had to babysit my nephew because his mom was giving birth. He was asking about his mom all day and I thought maybe going to Chucky cheese will redirect his thinking and make him feel happy. Little did I know that his orange shirt was not enough clew for me. I bought him a pizza and salad, we ate. Now it was time to clean up and resume playing. I went to the line and because he is not my child. I thought he should stay with me, but Ahmad wanted otherwise. so I asked him to use the machine that is very close to me, just to make it easier for me to supervise him. It only took one second, I turned my face away then back again in his direction. There was no more Ahmad!!! I walked calmly around the machine to check, no Ahmad. I walked around the area, still no Ahamd. I walked around the place, still, no Ahmad insight. My brain is about to give up on me, I felt like I was choking. I literally had to stop and hold my head because it felt so heavy. the only thing that came to my mind: "what will I say to his dad? I lost your boy?" My god, I was so desperate, I walked into the men's restrooms, I walked around the place about 6 times over and over again until I felt I am about to collapse. I thought I needed help. I called the manager and told him, I lost my boy, he has orange hair, freckles all over his face, and he is wearing an orange shirt. I sat down on the floor because literary my eyes became blurry as if I was going blind from the blood pressure, my heart is slowing down, and my ears felt like there were drums in them. Thankfully, they found him within a minute around that same machine. probably waiting for me. I just couldn't see him, Scarry!! Now imagine if you were a preschool teacher and you lost a child on a field trip? I wish a had a book that explains this image for children before they decide to wander around.
This is where the idea of Lost on a field trip came from. Lemar will wander around, she and her teacher will have to find each other when Lemar get lost on the field trip.
