Yaja is a Captain who went to sea as a young man, not quite seventeen, when navigation was more an art than a science, and a life at sea held the promise of adventure and romance.
He has sailed on ships from the magnetic compass and sextant vintage, to the modern, GPS-cooked, digital positions variety. More importantly, in his maritime career, he did get time to see the world and have fun while he did it.
He has also worked ashore, managing Shipping Companies and their ships, which took him to Europe, China, and Africa. He now lives in India and consults for the transport industry.
