In a varied and interesting life, Derrich grew up in poverty in one of the most dangerous cities in the United States, served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and led cybersecurity teams at Fortune 500 Companies. Now he is embarking on a new path, writing books that help people overcome the poverty mindset. Poverty Powerball is the first in a planned series.

Derrich Phillips was born and raised in the city of Gary, Indiana. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Grand Canyon University and a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University. Derrich currently works as the Founder and Chief Mentor at Mentor Select. He lives in Dallas, Texas, with his wife Requill and their dog Empress.
