Tim grew up in Syracuse, New York. He currently resides in Maryland where he teaches English, Creative Writing, Film, and Theatre on the middle school level. At the insistence of his own students, he began writing seriously in 2014.

He credits his love for story to his mother, who spent countless hours reading to him and his siblings when they were growing up. Growing up, he devoured the literary works of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Piers Anthony, and many others. Mysteries, thrillers, and fantasies are among the genres he most frequently reads.

When he’s not writing, he’s reading, teaching, camping, or at a live music concert.

An outdated summer camp, a quirky camp director, and a dark secret

The setting for my first book, Camp Lenape (A Kahale and Claude Mystery, Book 1), was a summer camp about as quirky and outdated as its camp director.

When I first toured the place in 2016, I was shown a beautiful estate upon which was built years ago a baseball camp for boys that eventually evolved into something far more inclusive. Yet, the campgrounds consisted of an odd assortment of ancient a

“You sure you can trust them?”
Timothy R. Baldwin, Camp Lenape

“personal”
Timothy R. Baldwin, Camp Lenape

“To walk inwardly with God, and not to be held by any outer affections, is the state of a spiritual man.”
Thomas à Kempis, Christian Devotionals - The Imitation of Christ, Confessions, Jesus The Christ, The Book of Ruth and How To Become Like Christ

“Thou canst quickly drive away Jesus and lose His favour if thou wilt turn away to the outer things. And if thou hast put Him to flight and lost Him, to whom wilt thou flee, and whom then wilt thou seek for a friend? Without a friend thou canst not live long, and if Jesus be not thy friend above all thou shalt be very sad and desolate. Madly therefore doest thou if thou trusteth or findest joy in any other. It is preferable to have the whole world against thee, than Jesus offended with thee. Therefore of all that are dear to thee, let Jesus be specially loved.”
Thomas à Kempis, Christian Devotionals - The Imitation of Christ, Confessions, Jesus The Christ, The Book of Ruth and How To Become Like Christ

“Books swept me away, one after the other, this way and that; I made endless vows according to their lights, for I believed them.”
Annie Dillard, An American Childhood

“I knew well that people could not fly—as well as anyone knows it—but I also knew the kicker: that, as the books put it, with faith all things are possible.”
Annie Dillard, An American Childhood

“They dissolved when I tried to inspect them, or dimmed, or slid dizzyingly away, like a ship’s stern yawing down the dark lee slope of a wave.”
Annie Dillard, An American Childhood
