Jane and Ellingham Characters

So that was it! He point-blank refused to get a job! So I broke off the engagement. Joshua Tolson really is the most infuriating person! We haven’t really fallen out, I still like Josh, who wouldn’t, just a difference of opinion, a mutual parting of the ways. We are still friends and he might still be of use to me, in fact I can think of at least one way right now! He really is so easily swayed.

And then there’s Ellingham, the young idiot’s man-servant! They say he comes from a family of butlers to royalty. He really is the bee’s knees, though I’m not sure he approves of me and you can tell he sees Josh as a bit of a come-down! I learned today that Josh has written a damned book about that silly Liz Manson episode. No doubt Ellingham has used his influence somewhere to get it published. I don’t suppose it will show me in very good light!

A small price to pay- Characters

Walter Tolson

Owner - TOLSON CARS LTD

Oxford England

He’s my second son and I love him dearly but even I have to admit Josh is not the brightest star in the sky. He’s not exactly workshy, he’s just lacking in the necessary aptitude. I pay him an allowance every month basically, if I’m honest, to keep him out of my hair. Recently however, I’ve found a way of getting him to earn it. I’m not sure if he’s realised it yet.

A few years back I found him a manservant, Ellingham, a very capable fellow, to keep him out of mischief and let me get on with running the business!

Hello from me

Hello there, I’m Dennis Talbot. My first novel, “A Small Price to Pay, Sir” reached the final of The People’s Book Prize 2016. It’s a humorous novel; that has often been likened to the wonderful Jeeves & Wooster novels of PG Wodehouse. As I lifelong fan of Wodehouse, I suppose it was only natural to use a similar format for it and its two companion novels. “Best Foot Forward, Ellingham” available now, and “Look Lively, Ellingham” out in the next couple of months, follow the life of amiable but slightly dopey, Josh Tolson and his manservant, Ellingham. The books are published by Olympia Publishers and are available through them, see my website below, and through Amazon as a paperback or on Kindle. To read what the characters have to say about themselves and each other and to buy direct from the publisher visit my website www.dennistalbot.co.uk
