February 4, 2020

Happy Pub Day!

It's Feb 4 2020! Launch day in the US and Canada! I haven't slept much for a few nights. My mind races ... and so does my heart!

Thank you so much to everyone who's reading FRAMED or added it to their 'want to read'. I'm so grateful to everybody who entered the GoodReads giveaway, too! I can't wait to hear what you think!

If you missed out on the contest, I'm going to be doing a giveaway on Twitter very soon as well. @SLMcInnis

It's be a loooong, tough journey to this day. But I'm very proud of this book. I loved every minute writing it - even under some pretty stressful circumstances. But more on that another time ... Today is for celebrating!

Again, bear with me as I climb the GR learning curve. To say I'm tech-challenged is, unfortunately, an understatement. But I'm of the mind that anybody can do anything, so hopefully I'll be up to speed in ... well, never mind a deadline. Life has enough of those!

Make sure you check out the great books I've been reading too - if you haven't already. Amazing authors like Samantha M. Bailey, Gilly Macmillan, Karma Brown, Robyn Harding & one of my heroes, Shari Lapena. More reviews to come!

Huge thanks to all! xo

Thank you!

It's a Sunday night about two weeks before "Framed" officially hits bookstores in the US and Canada. (It'll be released in April in the UK. Though I believe the ebook will be available everywhere on Feb 4, 2020.)

I'm excited, nervous and very grateful to everyone who's already rated or reviewed an ARC. :)

You can probably tell from my scant reviews and profile that I'm not very adept at GR! I even had an older account, but I never mastered it there either.

But I won't give up! Just forgive me as I get better at it. I'm not being a snob! I'm just being my tech-challenged self ... and possibly a bit shy.

But I do want to say how much I loved writing "Framed." I've never had a story that felt so pure or real to me.

I remember exactly where I was sitting when an image flashed into my mind (on the couch in my living room staring at the wall on a hot summer night.)

This image was of a good-looking guy jogging through the Hollywood Hills. (As it turns out, this man ends up being the philandering husband of the main character, Beth.)

But this one image of an arrogant guy jogging had a whole world behind it. I could tell it was a tense crime thriller that dealt with friendship, secrets and betrayal. I had to sit down and start writing.

Stephen King has a theory that stories actually exist fully formed and that writers are just archaeologists who uncover them. That's the way it felt with "Framed." The story was just "there." I loved every moment writing it - even the toughest editing days.

Mind you, there were lots of personal challenges as "Framed" was getting ready to hit shelves. It's been the most trying year of my life. But I made it and I'm really excited to get the book out there!

I'm especially curious to see if anyone guesses the twist ending - because it was even a shock to me!

If you read it, I really hope you enjoy it! And I'm so grateful if you take the time to rate or review ... Thanks again for stopping by. I'll check in again soon! xo
