New to this

I am new to this blog thing. I have been wanting to write a book for so many years and finally got around to it. The whole thing was fun, but the scary part was the publishing. I got some offers, but they wanted money upfront. I read up about this and a lot of authors say stay away. They should never ask for money upfront.
