Steve had his first book, A Very Important Teapot, published (by Claret Press) in 2019. He was 66 at the time. Seven years later and he has five books out in the great wide world with (hopefully) more to come. It's never too late!

A Very Important Teapot, Bored to Death in the Baltics (2021) and Poor Table Manners (2024) make up Steve's Dawson & Lucy Series of Spy Thrillers With Laughs, proper thrillers, proper plots but lots of humour. The initially hapless, out-of-his-depth but always witty, engaging and optimistic Dawson and the much less hapless, bolshie, gung-ho Lucy make up the most unlikely spy pair of all time as chaos reigns in Australia, Estonia and South Africa respectively.

It’s not every day you open your front door to find a giraffe in the porch.

Not actually in the porch, obviously. That would be absurd; a giraffe is, as you probably know, quite a tall animal, and certainly taller than my porch, which is, well, porch-sized.
