Kirkus review for Killing The Girl
'In Hill’s dark thriller, a troubled teenaged girl murders her serially unfaithful boyfriend and wrestles with the psychological fallout of her crime.

In 1969 England, Carol Cage is only 15 years old, still reeling from the sudden death of the father she adored and losing herself in the books he bequeathed her. When she meets Frankie Dewberry, a 19-year-old “posh boy from London” who hails from a wealthy family that inhabits the “borders of royalty,” she is immediately taken in by his flirtatiou

Hi all

Just a reach out to authors on here that need encouragement to keep writing!

There's a popular belief that it's hard to sustain your commitment to finish a draft with willpower alone. I get that.

Would a support group help?

Have you been part of a group solely formed to encourage you to get your words down? How did you find it and did it work?

Let me know and happy writing.

“The first piece of advice I would give any writer is to read a lot and to read widely. Firstly you start to realize what’s out there and what isn’t out there. Publishers are looking for stories that haven’t been told before. Reading other people can also improve your own writing. I love reading poetry even though I wouldn’t think of writing it. A great poet can say in two lines what it takes me a whole novel to express. If I’ve learned from any kind of writing, it’s poetry – and the lesson is concision. What can you leave out and the reader will still get the message?”

The Readers' Room by Antoine Laurain
"If you have read Laurain's "French Windows", you will love this one.

Laurain's books are not so much crime thrillers but gently unravelling mysteries that don't let you go - even after you have finished them. I have read a number now and cannot but r" Read more of this review »
