Ho-ho-holy macaroni — the DrunkSkull Sidewalk Cinema is returning to Flock of Moons (and this time, hopefully we’ve got our audio sorted!)! 

You know what that means: mini-bookmaking documentaries, time-lapse footage of collage covers or linocuts, and, of course, animated "drunk poems" to inspire both guffaws and delights! There’ll still be popcorn and other freebies, and with so many rad vendors filling up the beer garden out back, you’ll surely be able to find a stocking stuffer or two — if not handle your holiday gift list entirely! So if you want to watch a little something we made, and maybe grab a box or two — come find us, we look forward to seeing you!

And if you’re not sure what the DrunkSkull Sidewalk Cinema is…well, hopefully this will help!

Be it mini-documentaries on the making of hardcover editions or original collage covers for Chinese Gucci, to video broadsides and hand-carving and printing linocuts for Psalms From The Badlands, to the finished animations for some "drunk poems" from A Deep & Gorgeous Thirst -- we're excited to share a behind-the-scenes glimpse at just a few of things DrunkSkull Books has been up to!

If you’re wishing you had a couple of books, and were also interested in the amazing RUSTY TRUCK anthology that just landed, well, you’re in luck!

Wide ranging styles and theories about poetry are on proper display with this seminal anthology celebrating a specific time and place in the recent history of small pressroom.

Well now, what d’ya know about that?!

We’re pretty darn jazzed around the HQ to have PSALMS make the cut in this year’s New Mexico Book Awards in Poetry! We think the book is about as pretty as you can get, and the poems ain’t too shabby either — so we’re chuffed and humbled to see some folks agree!

It’s the first time we’ve ever tried fr things like this because the book seemed to be right for trying! Our deepest thanks go out to everyone who judged and submitted and anyone who tries to make beautiful books in and about New Mexico!

Holy cow — this one snuck up on me!

I missed not only promoting this book (and the terrific reading hosted by Collapse Press in support of it) more widely…but I also missed that the book is already available! Amateur, bush-league stuff, McCreesh…c’mon now!

SOMETIMES THE MONSTERS TURN INTO SUNFLOWERS AT THE MACHINE is a weighty collaboration, with contributions spanning nearly the last couple decades. If you’ve been following the small press for a while, you’ll know-doubt recognize many a storied and familiar name in this sturdy collection celebrating all things Rusty Truck — the long-running online journal that is, at long last, adding some more printed projects to its cache! There are loads and loads of my favorites poets included here, and I am sure the book is going to be a tremendous read! Scot Young is the salt-of-the-earth, grounded, and big-hearted chauffeur, steering the TRUCK (and it’s many wayward, possibly drunken denizens) through the backroads of American Poetry, and this anthology beats with exactly that same heart.

And, if the talent amassed isn’t enough to sway you, all the proceeds go to the ACLU — and obviously at a time when we need all the brave and fearless folks we can get fighting on our behalf. I’m truly honored — not only to be part of the book, but to lend a few words to this wonderful project and to support Scot’s tireless work. Get a copy for any of the myriad great reasons!

Long live the small press! Keep Books Dangerous!
