I grew up in north Alabama in a cotton mill town. Both sides of my family worked there. I heard their stories throughout my childhood and knew I wanted to write about it. My four novels: You Can't Ride This Train, Black Creek Rising, Trees with Angel Hair, and And Grace Will Lead Me Home fictionalize my growing up years and those of my family.
