Joe Barnes is the author of the book, Escape The System, and due to be released in February 2020 through Watkins Media, Do The Work You Love. He is also a speaker, giving talks at various personal development groups throughout London and running his own group, Success Club, which meets every month.

Why do you work?

Is it because you love what you do and would still be doing it regardless of whether there was any financial incentive? Or, it is because of the money?

If the answer is the latter then you are not free. Of course, there are degrees of servitude, but if your inner voice is rebelling against the routine of reporting to an office, or place or work, 5 days a week, 48 weeks of year, th

“You’ll feel the sting even more poignantly if you buy into the system’s credo that the more you have, and the more you own, the happier you will be. If this is the case, then you’re”

Elmore Leonard
“Elmore Leonard's Ten Rules of Writing

1. Never open a book with weather.
2. Avoid prologues.
3. Never use a verb other than "said" to carry dialogue.
4. Never use an adverb to modify the verb "said”…he admonished gravely.
5. Keep your exclamation points under control. You are allowed no more than two or three per 100,000 words of prose.
6. Never use the words "suddenly" or "all hell broke loose."
7. Use regional dialect, patois, sparingly.
8. Avoid detailed descriptions of characters.
9. Don't go into great detail describing places and things.
10. Try to leave out the part that readers tend to skip.

My most important rule is one that sums up the 10.

If it sounds like writing, I rewrite it.”
