Starting from the beginning, my name is Eli Kwake, pronounced ˈilaɪ kwāk. I am pansexual, polyamorous, and genderqueer. My pronouns are they/them. I am a musician, an artist, a writer, a drag king, a lover, a spouse, a friend, a foe, a human, a dragon. I make no apologies for who and what I am. I was forged in fire. I am bigger on the inside.

It’s nice to meet you.

Do I go to Damar (Robin McKinley), or Sacoridia (Kristen Britain), or Earthsea (Ursula K. Le Guin), or Discworld (Sir Terry Pratchett)? Or do I go somewhere new, and uncharted?

I think I would go somewhere new and uncharted, learn the norms of the world, and tell them of my own. Most fictional worlds that have been told by others have their stories and their heroes. It would be interesting to find a story I could fit into. Preferably not as the hero.

That said if I absolutely had to choose: Damar. I would like to hang out with Luthe, and see the Lake of Dreams.(less)

I bludgeon my way through until I'm writing something worth keeping, and fix the rest when I edit. Worst case I'll ask for random prompts. I once threw geese at a character because someone said I should. It worked. It moved the plot along.(less)

Dear Twelve Year Old Me

Hey me when I was twelve,

You've just decided to start writing, almost on a whim. You've only ever written poetry, but you've decided that since you love reading, you might love writing. You're right about that. You hate editing by the way, but eventually, you come to see the beauty in that too.

It's hard to see it from where you're standing, but it's worth it to keep writing. I know you're not very
