Cliffordene is a writer, dreamer, and proud dog mom (and assistant) to Lola and Ramsey. She is from the small town of Barkly West in the Northern Cape and has been writing love stories by hand since she was 15 years old.
She began her professional career at Volksblad after completing her BA Honours degree in Journalism at North-West University, Potchefstroom, in 2013. She currently resides in Potchefstroom and works for her alma mater.
She enjoys reading, appropriate sarcasm, and is addicted to popcorn and a good cup of coffee. She enjoys writing short stories, and more than 30 of her short stories have been published in LitNet, Vrouekeur, Kuier, Huisgenoot, and various anthologies.

My 6-week writing process: from draft to finish

For the past six (6) weeks, I have been working on my novel for the LAPA Publishers YA competition. I decided to enter the competition on 18 September, the competition closed on 31 October.

Why? Because making my life difficult is one of my favourite past times.

I usually write a complete manuscript in three – to five months. I had to speed up my writing process for the competition.
