Judith Pancoast was born and brought up in Waterville. Maine. At the tender age of five she conceived her first short story, about a swivel chair that would take its passenger on a ride to hell. Unfortunately, she could neither read nor write at the time so the story remains untold to this day. Judith attended the University of Maine in Orono just like Stephen King did, but, unlike Mr. King, she majored in Music. She deferred fiction writing to focus on songwriting for many years (and was nominated for a Grammy Award) until fate intervened and no less than Mr. Mojo himself, Joe Lansdale, invited her to collaborate with him and his son Keith on the stage musical adaptation of his novella “Christmas with the Dead.” During this process, Judy s ...more
