Born and raised in Mexico City, Oscar Cecena began writing at a very young age: fantasy stories in middle school, lyrics for his band in high school, and sci-fi in university, but he never seriously pursued his writing. Instead, he sought out a career in the software industry. He moved to Toronto in 2013, and it wasn’t until 2018 that he rekindled his love for writing.

Since then, Oscar has written a few short stories, stories, and he’s currently working on a novel. He believes that writing is the best way to transport someone to a different world, the way other writers have done with him. It is common to find humour in his work, using it to make the characters feel real and the story engaging.
