Learning Smarter & Faster

A wise man once said "it doesn't matter how fast you run if you're running towards the wrong direction".

If you're on the constant grind and learning new things...

You might be overloading yourself with too much information.

Our brains are not meant to intake everything and just integrate it. Instead it is constantly downloading new info and deleting what is useful and isn't.

However, only some people are able to learn smart and fast. How is it that someone like Elon Musk can learn so much and so fast in a short period of time?

Many may argue it's because he's smart and gifted...

That may be true, but it's not just because of that. It's also because he understands how he learns and is able to leverage that to his best advantage.

There is no one sure way to learning as we are all different and have our own ways to getting information to stick.

Nonetheless, there are 7 things you can do when learning any new information, especially reading a new book.

Here are the 7 things that can be put in order as steps to helping you learn smarter and faster:

1. Filter out anything that is not useful/valuable to what you need /think is going to help you right now (*80/20)*

2. Break it down into the smallest parts
possible (to learn how to swim, you start with practicing the motions for different parts of your body first, not just jump in and start whaling - unless you're a natural)

3. Summarize it in 30 seconds

4. Teach it to someone/write a post about it

5. Write a One-page summary on it (draw it out if necessary)

6. Associate it with something (e,g, learning copy, need to have a structure down like i do in breaking) OR (Einstein didn't just sit there when he couldn't do math, he thought of it this way or that way.etc)

7. Integrate it

Disturbed yet?

Halloween is tomorrow and I'm sure there's going to be lots of familiar costumes we're going to see this year...

This year's Halloween has not disappointed. One of the most controversial films 'The Joker'
created tons of buzz worldwide.

We have people saying it was too disturbing yet we have people saying it was a masterpiece.

If you haven't seen it yet and you're good with R-rated type of films, then this is something that you have to experience for yourself...

See Josh Brolin's take on it...

Part of it reads...
"To appreciate 'Joker' I believe you have to have either gone through something traumatic in your lifetime (and I believe most of us have) or understand somewhere in your psyche what true compassion is (which usually comes from having gone through something traumatic, unfortunately)."

The Dip
